Wednesday 27th November
Our Final Speaker/Performer was Carol Shedden, Pianist
After what is believed to be 20 years, this was the last day of the monthly speaker afternoon tea program at Ryder-Cheshire Ivanhoe Homes.
All of the local ‘regulars’ were thanked for their terrific support of the program over so many years. Rosemary mentioned that Sr Jane had asked her and Liz to take on the program around five years ago and it had proved to be an excellent partnership. Last year, a morning tea was held for the regulars who had personally supplied all the wonderful sandwiches, cakes and slices for so many years. This year, the Alphington CWA have provided the most superb afternoon teas and Anna, the co-ordinator was thanked for the extra effort she has gone to. Angie said that the partnership with the CWA would continue next year in a different format.
Rest assured our normal weekly, Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternoon teas, are continuing where residents and locals can gather for a good chat over a cuppa and some tasty treats.
As to the afternoon tea program, the talented pianist, Carol Shedden, provided residents and guests with entertainment including the traditional Christmas Carol sing-a-long.
